Well It’s About Time….

Category: Stuff

It appears that my blogging rate has declined dramatically over the past several months, so I guess I had better try and correct that.  With that in mind I had better fill everyone in on what ever I can think of before it is lost forever.  I have continued traveling since the last update to many many places around.  I returned to London and Paris as well as several places within the US.  My most recent trip took me to San Jose, CA.  It was a quick 2 day trip, but any trip made 2 days before X-mas is always packed with fun.  The airport which I have come to understand over the past year and a half is a really interesting place with various shops and eateries that you can visit during your travels and many times find out a great deal about the city which you now occupy.  However, starting 1 week before x-mas and lasting until 1 week after new years the airport is transformed in the 4th level of hell!!!  There are on average (I am assuming all numbers as I do not have the correct calculations on hand) 1 trillion people in every airport that are now occupying every shop, restaurant, and solid surface upon which on could sit inside of every airport.  These people are not the same as you would find during the rest of the year, they have no knowledge of air travel, and there is no common courtesy for there fellow travellers.  They are loud, slow, and often block off entire areas with there ability to fan out across a hallway and refuse to pay attention to anyone or anything trying to move past.  I do miss the airport which I have come to know and respect and I hope that when I return in the new year it will be there waiting.

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year!!!!

Travelers Log Blah, Blah, Blah…

Category: Stuff

Well folks its that time again.   This is you monthly update from somewhere on planet Earth.  This trip takes us back to Paris for an extended trip by the result of some fairly scary installation practices by the French.

img00179.jpgimg00177.jpg

In-case you are wondering this is not the way to run your high voltage cables!!!

But since the French were kind enough to give me the reason to stay I decided I might as well go see there museums and such.  So I was off to the Louver.

I saw the pyramid,

img00192.jpg

I saw the Mona Lisa,

img00202.jpg

I saw the Venus De Milo,

img00212.jpg

I saw a Sphinx,

img00225.jpg

I saw this thing,

img00198.jpg

and I saw the ceilings.

img00193.jpg

And when that was over(like 4 hours and barely even got started) I went to Notre Dame.

img00243.jpg

And if all of that has not impressed everyone so far, I even found out where the TX Vesbas are.

So that is your update from over here.  I will try to post more of the 3 million photos I have taken on the next installment of “Where did Huck go?”

Having Fun Where Ever I Am!

Category: Stuff

So it has been an interesting past little while since my last post.  I made it thru the latest trip to Europe.

I discovered the mystic secrets of the EuroRail.

(I forgot to take a picture while riding this time)

I got to ride around in the London Underground.

img00131.jpg

I even got to see England in the rain and sunshine!

(Again No Pic yet)

I made it back to the states only to have a car accident in a parking lot.

 picture-022.jpg

I was able to find another and really nice car!

I even managed to get a new chair for the living room!

Eurail what???

Category: Stuff

I have been able to find my way all over the United States over the past year.  Through subway systems, around airports, downtown mazes, customs lines, foreign monuments, and New Jersey(any state with no left turns deserves its own mention).  I have been able to navigate successfully, although sometimes with grand adventure, through all of these trials, but I can not figure out the Euro Rail system.  There are Euro-Passes and Euro-Tickets.  There are destination cities and countries.  There is not, that I have found, guaranteed seats on any train.  There are no easily found schedules or routes.  I am not even positive that it even exists, but I have been told by many people that it is worth riding on.  I will be travelling to Paris soon and I must get between there and London, and at this time I have told my vendor that i am going to attach a rope to him and let him guide me around.  Wish me luck and a great deal of wisdom to help figure this one out.

…And Then I Came Home!

Category: Stuff

Well hello again my fellow bloggers.  How have you all been?  I have finally made it back home for a week or so, which I have been eagerly been awaiting for some time now.  I was able to go to Pooh’s birthday party last night that was my favorite restaurant Mena’s.  I get to go grocery shopping this week; believe me when living out of a suitcase this is a big deal.  Don’t get me wrong here either.  I have really enjoyed getting to see other cities and parts of the country, but it is nice to come home and relax.  I get to play catch up when I get back in town with things like sleep, laundry, shopping, and visiting everyone.  The first week home has become a really fun time for things.  So without further adieu…I am going to go enjoy myself!

Off To The Slowlane!

Category: Stuff

Well it finally happened!  Yep that’s right folks I am back on the road.  I bought a SUV to boot!  I have discovered one thing however.  Since being in the drivers seat almost a year ago, I have learned that everyone needs to SLOW DOWN!  I mean it.  I drove my nice shiny new car up to Pooh’s yesterday in utter terror of the other drivers.  I actually think that some people believe the speed limit is the minimum speed to be maintained on the highway.  I now know why taxi drivers are insane.  They drive around all day with all of the nitwits and NASCAR wannabes, and I am surprised they are willing to do all of that for my 5 dollar fare and 2 dollar tip.  Well I will be very thankful and respectful to all cab drivers from now on.  Not that I have been rude in the past, but I just have that much more appreciation for what they do.  Anyways, I hope to see you all out there dodging the crazys!

Oh…and on another note thanks to everyone that made it up this weekend.  It was great to see you all!  As for everyone else I hope to see you all soon!

Run as fast as you can!!!

Category: Stuff

Oh well still not fast enough to get away from the big 30.  Well atleast I got a really cool suprise breakfast Monday from the fam before I had to head to the airport for the current adventure in Chicago.  So what does a 30 year old need for his Birthday you ask?  Why it is a Nintendo DS of course so I could find out I have a brain age of 41!  Ha I am not sure if that means I am smarter than the average 30 year old or just slower.  Well it is probably the later, but I will claim option A.  Well that is it from your now wiser and maybe a little slower host (*Flash*) (*Bang*) (Where did he go?) (HeHe) :)

Back at an Airport….What else is new?

Category: Stuff

So I am back at an airport again…This time I’m in Newark headed to D.C. for another fun filled adventure.  This time I do get the added bonus of fighting a cold while going thru a suprisingly warm New York City and an yet unkown climate in Virginia.  On the flip side I will get a goo 8-10 hours to relax at home come Thursday night!  Anyways I have had a couple of busy weeks with work, but that has been nice to distract me from the upcomming dreaded 30 year milestone.  I believe I get to spend that time in Chicago.  I have managed to accumulate enough flyer miles to earn a vacation or two so who know I may get to try this travelling thing to someplace warm and fun.  Well here is to dreaming anyways.  Well it looks like a plane may be pulling up to give us a reprieve from another delay.  Off to the wild blue….well you know the rest————————>*Poof*
