I haven’t made a post with actual information in awhile, so here goes.
Isaac news – as previously mentioned, he rolled over, tummy to back last week. He did it about 4 times the night he first did it and has only done it 2 or 3 times since. He seems to have been impressed with his fancy new trick for about an hour and now the newness has faded. He talks a lot more these days and his laugh is starting to turn into more of a laugh instead of him getting so excited he breathes in and out so fast he ends up coughing. When we went to hang out with Sean and Amy and Cannon (co-workers and son), he quite enjoyed the day. He sat around and played, then ate, then napped, then played some more, then ate, then napped. It’s a pretty easy little routine. When he’s ready to nap he’ll fuss a tiny bit so I pop in the paci and let him lay in my arms and he goes right to sleep for about 30 minutes. Such an easy baby.
Work is work. I’ve been working 8AM to 11AM here at home, then I go into the office from 12 to 5. It has been a great schedule, but I have to go back to working at the office full time at the beginning of the year, so we’ll be doing daycare. We pondered letting him stay with people we know that keep kids during the day, but the more I thought about that the less I liked it. I would rather have him be in a place that has a regular routine through the day and has more toys and activities that will help him learn things. I got this advice from a friend of my dad’s and it just seems like a better thing for how I want to raise Isaac. I know he’ll be subjected to more illnesses, but that is going to happen sooner or later anyway. If I could work part time and spend more time with him, I definitely would. We just happen to have a lot of bills to pay off. Birthing a child is expensive.
We are going to go up to Glen Rose/Hico for Halloween next weekend. Misti bought a Lobster outfit for Drake, but he outgrew it about 20 minutes after she bought it, so Isaac got his first Halloween hand-me-down. He’s really freakin cute in that thing. Speaking of Misti, I got to spend a weekend with her in Midland a little while back. It was quite nice, but rather hectic with two baby boys and a 3 year old. We seemed to run like a machine, though. Isaac is trying his hardest to keep up with Drake, but I think Drake has been in a growth spurt for about 6 months. Davis is a splendid genius boy that I love so much. He is very fun and I like talking to him and hearing his stories.
Dad had his 60th birthday last month, and that party was really fun. Mom went all out and had a bunch of surprise people there. He had a lot of fun and now has a fancy glamour shot of himself up at the local BBQ joint. Celebrity, he is.
Okay, that was all probably old news to most people. I have random things happen during the day that I think I want to blog, but by the time I get home I just want to sit with Isaac and forget my stories completely. Good trade for me, bad trade for you. I need to start journaling on paper so I can share things. Yes. I will do this in my spare time…
