You decide who won.

Abandoned

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

Awhile ago I posted my brain affair with plane graveyards. This website, artificialowl.net, lends much to that part of my brain. I could spend hours looking at all of this. It’s so amazing because you can look at the google link for each entry and see the area for yourself.

Also, Amanda and James have come back to the U.S.!!! Yay! They decided to wind up their trip and not tell anyone until they were back in Houston. Can’t wait to see them.

Friends

Isaac went to hang out with Sean and Amy and Cannon on Sunday. They captured some of the day with this new fangled technology called photography. Seen here.

Site Stuff

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

One – apparently the site is going up and down. Dunno what’s up. Everything is paid. Probably just wonky. No worries.

Two – this weekend with the fam the topic of site stats came up and I realized I hadn’t looked at them in months and months. I glanced them over tonight and found a few things kind of funny. The most search engine hits come from people looking for Boomdiada related stuff. About 500 hits in November. I also noticed I got hits from 4 people using a Sony Playstation Portable (PSP). Funny.

As I was looking through the referral links, I started thinking about back in the day how those statistics actually showed you something. You could actually see where real live people linked to you. Now those stats are all full of bots linking my images on pages that auto-generate a bunch of pictures. Or crazy sites like this. I don’t particularly need or care where legitimate people are linking me from, but if it were my job to try to sort through site stats, I think I’d be incredibly annoyed with the Internet.

And vacation is over. Back to work tomorrow. Crazy…… crazy work…

Another Promotion

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

I received another promotion at work a few weeks ago. The opportunities I’ve been given in this company are amazing. I’m incredibly happy with the new role and I feel like I’m learning a lot about management. Very lucky and very happy to be where I am. Hurray!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so happy gorging everyone. I’ll be attempting to not be miserable with large sums of food. It should be a good time with the family, but I won’t get to see my cousins and uncle on my moms side, so that’s a bit of a downer. Hopefully we’ll get to hook up at Christmas.

Isaac is doing well. He’s saying about 8-10 words. One of his first phrases in the last month was “Oh Shit”, which I was really torn about. Torn because obviously, it’s not a great phrase, so that’s bad. But he was using it in the proper context, which makes me feel like I should be slightly proud. I was pleasantly surprised when his babysitter said he probably picked it up from her. I don’t think it would be a far reach for everyone to assume it was me. I thought it was me, despite that not being a phrase I use often. Anyway, he’s pretty much stopped saying it, so that’s good. He says mom, da (dad), yaya (my mom), hi, bye, kitty, yeah, no. He says many other things, most of which are garble. Those specific words he seems to use appropriately, so I’m excited. Sadee will be pleased that she’ll have someone to talk to.

Life is busy busy. I’m still tired a lot, but sleep has been saved by Melatonin. It works perfectly and doesn’t leave me afraid of being an addict. I fear rehab, so it’s a win win.

I guess that’s about it. Enjoy your holiday and be safe!

P.S. I’m thankful for my amazing son who changed my life and gave me a purpose with substance. Thank you Isaac Douglas. I love you!
